Tinkerbell

So for the last month I have been working on a larger project for a christmas present. I love making things for people, and wanted to make something more personal as a present rather than buying just anything for a gift. I came up with this idea after seeing a few inspirations from other crocheter on Facebook. I wanted it to be fairly a large size so it can be used a blanket or throw for a bed. I came up with several different designs such as adding names, however I felt that it took away from the main image.

In total I used 10 balls of light blue wool, for the background, due to having to wait for stock to come back in, it took a lot longer to complete. However it was definitely worth it. I gave me time to look over my work and work out if there was any changes i would or need to make before completely finishing it. Not only this but also gave me time to start designing my new blanket, as well as focusing on items for my Etsy page.

I really enjoyed this project, although it is a lot longer than other projects that i have done. I really did enjoyed the challenge.

As you can you can see from the diagram below I have coloured the wings as a grey colour, however when making the blanket I chose to make them white, it was always my intention to make them white, however i wasn't sure what colour I wanted the background to be. I also came up with the idea to use a white and sparkle wool, however after consideration i felt that the may have been to much, being slightly to distracting.

I never wrote a step by step for this pattern, as I just worked on it from the computer, however if someone wants to write the patten up, i believe that it not that hard, the only reason for not doing this at the moment is that there are 160 rows in total, A lot more than my usual 25 by 25 graphs.

I would love to know what you all think to it down in the comments below.

Pattern can be found on Etsy

  5. Row 47: it says 12f then 1f and 4b. But after the 12f you only have room for 4 more stitches... Is it just 4b or should the 1f be a 1df with 3b??

  8. On row 69 you 5W 3F 6G 1F 4B 9F 12B. That only adds up to 40 stitches. I aussme that the other 29 stock are blue and go before the the 5W.

  10. I love your pattern and I know it is a lot of work to write out a pattern from a graph. I did find an error on row 69. The 30B from the end of row 68 was not brought down to row 69. If that make sense. Row 69 the amount of stiches didn't add up that is what caught my attention. So when did the 30 stiches everything fit in place. So again thank you for your hard work and for sharing your pattern. I'm making it for my granddaughter's birthday.

  12. Hi, just purchased your pattern and I plan to make it for my granddaughter. Please share how much yarn you purchased for each color. I saw it was 10 for blue, but how much of the other colors? Also, how many yards were in a ball for the blue? Thank you,

    1. Heya, thank you so much :)
It has been along time since i made this pattern, however i believe that I to buy two of every colour apart from pink, grey and black, where they onlhy required a bit from a ball of wool/yarn. Hope this helps. Would love to see the finished product :)
